Located along the historic Kannon-dori shopping street near Senso-ji, Wagyu & Tsukishima Monja UMAUMA is a standout destination for sampling authentic Tokyo comfort food with a premium twist. If you're new to monjayaki, it is Tsukishima’s signature pan-fried dish -similar to Kansai’s okonomiyaki, but made with a much runnier, savory batter cooked directly on the tabletop griddle. It might not be the prettiest dish to look at, but what it lacks in appearance it more than makes up for in rich, caramelized flavor and a delightfully crispy bottom crust (senbei). Alongside their sizzled monja, their Wagyu beef soba is an absolute must-try in my opinion.
