Terms of service

Last updated: May 26, 2026

Acceptance

By booking or paying for a tour with Kimasu, you accept these terms of service. Please read them before you book.

Who we are

Kimasu is operated by Nicolas Weber (sole proprietor), Kyoto Building 402, 227 Daikokucho, Shichijodori Aburanokoji Higashi-iru, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto, 600-8223, Japan. You can reach us at contact@kimasu.jp or on +81 80-5145-8434.

Bookings and payment

A booking is confirmed once payment is received. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your full card details. Prices are shown on each tour page, taxes included unless stated otherwise.

Prices may be displayed in your local currency for convenience; that display is indicative, and your card is charged in the settlement currency shown at checkout. Any bank or currency-conversion fees are your responsibility.

Cancellations, refunds, and rescheduling

  • Cancellation more than 7 days before the tour: free, with a full refund.
  • Cancellation within 7 days of the tour: 50% of the price is charged.
  • Cancellation within 24 hours of the start time: no refund.
  • If Kimasu cancels for weather or safety reasons, you receive a full refund or an alternative date, at your choice.

To cancel or reschedule, contact us by email or WhatsApp as early as possible. Refunds are returned to the original payment method.

Conduct and safety

Please arrive at the agreed time and place and follow your guide's safety instructions throughout the tour. We may end a tour early, without refund, if a participant behaves unsafely, unlawfully, or abusively toward the guide or others.

Health and suitability

Some tours involve physical activity such as cycling or extended walking. By booking, you confirm that the participants are fit to take part and will disclose, in advance, any condition that may affect their safety so we can advise on suitability.

Liability and insurance

We provide guiding services with reasonable skill and care. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kimasu is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded. Participants are responsible for their own travel and medical insurance.

Force majeure

We are not liable for failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, transport disruption, illness, or government action. In such cases we will offer a refund or an alternative date.

Intellectual property

The content of this website — text, photographs, and itineraries — belongs to Kimasu and may not be reproduced without our permission.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably falls under the jurisdiction of the Kyoto District Court as the court of first instance.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking governs that booking.
